The administration of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State
announced that over 60 projects aimed at improving health care services
in the rural areas under the state government and Millennium Development
Goals (MDG) partnership have been completed. Okorocha spoke as part of
resolution at the end of a meeting with MDG project coordinator in Imo
State, Mrs. Nma Nzeribe.
Okorocha said the project under
the MDG include primary health centres, emergency flood shelter
buildings and community health centres, adding that they would be
equipped in line with global standard.
He said the projects would
be handed over to the various communities through the Community
Government Council (CGC). he stressed that local communities would take
active participation in the affairs that concerns them.
Okorocha
aslo urged contractors handling some of these projects to expedite
action to ensure completion of the project within the scheduled
timeframe. He maintained that the present administration was determined
to pursue all projects designed to improve the lives of the people
especially at the grass root, and advised benefitting communities to
guard the projects in their domain with care in their overall interest,
and report to government any deviation.
